Nebraska rallies to upset No. 6 Wisconsin in overtime

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska men’s basketball came from behind Thursday night, erasing a 19-point deficit to defeat No. 6 Wisconsin in overtime.
The Huskers won 80-72 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Nebraska outshot the Badgers 45% to 42% from the field and made 19 of 26 free throw attempts.
The game was a tale of two halves.
Nebraska always trailed in the first period. At one point, the gap was 19.
But the Huskers got hot in the second. They went on a 12-0 run punctuated by two C.J. Wilcher 3-pointers.
Wilcher made a jumper with about nine minutes left to tie the game at 52.
The Badgers took control again until the closing minutes.
With 25 seconds left, Brice Williams made two free throws to put the Huskers up by 2 points — their first lead of the game.
Wisconsin’s Aj Storr made a layup with 20 seconds left to send the game to overtime.
Nebraska continued its second-half momentum in overtime, outscoring the Badgers 13-5 in the extra period.

Wilcher led the Huskers with 22 points. He was 5 of 7 from 3-point range.
Rienk Mast followed with 20 points, and Williams scored 17.
Nebraska will play at No. 14 Illinois on Sunday. The game starts at 5:30 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.
