Nebraska ranked No. 1 in NCAA volleyball committee’s in-season top 16

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska secured the top spot in the NCAA volleyball committee’s in-season top 16 rankings on Sunday.
The NCAA D1 women’s volleyball committee announced the rankings during the Louisville vs. Pitt match.
Officials said all matches through Saturday were “under consideration when determining the rankings.”
Undefeated Nebraska is No. 1, with Texas, Pitt and Kentucky filling out the top four.

This is the second year that the NCAA’s in-season rankings feature 16 teams. Previously, only the 10 teams were revealed.
The committee considered “several criteria,” including strength of schedule and top-10 wins, when deciding the rankings.
The finalized NCAA tournament seedings will be announced on Nov. 30.
Nebraska has swept eight straight opponents. The Huskers haven’t lost a set since the Creighton game on Sept. 16.
