Nebraska receives federal funds for severe storm recovery

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska has received more federal disaster aid for severe weather.

Gov. Jim Pillen said Wednesday that the state has been sent federal money for recovery from storms from June 20 to July 8.

Sixteen counties are eligible for the aid: Boyd, Clay, Dakota, Dawson, Douglas, Fillmore, Holt, Howard, Lincoln, McPherson, Nance, Nemaha, Saunders, Scotts Bluff, Thomas and Washington.

They were hit by severe thunderstorms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding.

The governor’s office said this is the fourth round of federal disaster assistance Nebraska has received this year.
