Nebraska secretary of state predicts 72% voter turnout for 2024 election

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska’s secretary of state predicts that over 70% of the state’s 1,264,149 registered voters will participate in this year’s election.
In a press release on Monday morning, Secretary of State Bob Evnen predicted a voter turnout of around 72% for the general election.
Officials said the estimate is based on early voting turnout and trends in recent general elections.
“County election offices have done a remarkable job helping early voters cast their ballots securely,” Evnen said in the release. “Nebraskans continue to fulfill the new voter ID requirement before voting, and we expect that to continue on Election Day.”
So far, 332,455 voters have cast ballots for the general election in Nebraska, according to officials.
Over 72,000 voted at county election offices and more than 260,000 voted early by mail.
Polling places across the state will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. You can find your polling place HERE.
