Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse speaks out on communism poll

Sen. Ben Sasse (R) NE, is speaking out on a new poll, that shows one-in-three millenials view communism favorably.
Sasse said, “Listen, this poll is scary, it’s a warning that America has a civics crisis. America doesn’t work, if we don’t pack the meaning down to the next generation, and clearly we’re not doing that, right now.”
The study is by the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, a non-profit, created by a Congressional Act, first put in place by George H.W. Bush and re-signed by President Bill Clinton.
It also found that the number of millenials that view communism favorably increased by eight percent from last year.
The poll also says that 57 percent of millenials still believe the Declaration of Independence better “guarantees freedom and equality” over the Communist Manifesto, written by Karl Marx.
The poll surveyed 2,100 people over the age of 16.
And it’s important to note that the foundation does have an agenda.
Saying in their mission statement their goal is to “tell the truth about communism” and promote a vision “for a world free from the world from the false hope of communism.”
