Nebraska soccer earns first draw of season vs. Missouri State

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — In the first Sunday match of the year, Nebraska ends in a tie with Missouri State, 1-1.
In the first half, neither team scored. Nebraska had 10 total shots in the first 45 minutes, compared to Missouri State’s 3. But, the Huskers had two shots on goal.
Near the end of the first half, the Bears were awarded a penalty kick, which senior goalie Cece Villa blocked.
To start the second half, Missouri State got on the board first in the 55th minute.
Moments later, Nebraska’s Ella Rudney netted the equalizer in the 61st minute.
With less than five minutes left in the game, Nebraska was able to get off two shots but was unable to convert the winning goal.
Nebraska moves to 1-0-1 on the season, while Missouri State is now 0-1-1.
Next up for the Huskers is a trip to Stillwater, OK.
Nebraska will clash with No. 22 Oklahoma State Thursday night at 7 p.m.
