Nebraska State Patrol arrests one after finding endangered missing child

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska State Patrol arrested a Sioux City woman Sunday after an endangered missing child was found in north Lincoln.

Around 5:15 p.m., the South Sioux City Police Department requested an Endangered Missing Advisory for 5-year-old Nicco Hoffman.

According to police, Nicco had not been seen for several hours, and his family thought he was riding in a car with his sister.

About 20 minutes later, the state patrol was told that the vehicle was spotted driving west on Interstate 80 between Lincoln and Omaha.

At 5:50 p.m., troopers pulled the vehicle over at mile marker 403, just southwest of the North 27th Street exit.

The state patrol said Nicco was recovered without incident and safely reunited with his family Sunday evening.

The driver, 20-year-old Lilyanna Romero-Hoffman, was arrested on suspicion of violation of a custody order and theft by receiving stolen property of $5,000 or more.

She was lodged in the Lancaster County Jail.
