LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating the death of an inmate at a county jail.

Edgar Walker, 53, suffered a medical emergency Monday at the Thurston County Jail in northeast Nebraska, the patrol said.

He was taken to a hospital in Pender, where he was pronounced dead.

Walker was awaiting trial on a charge of second-degree domestic assault, according to court records.
