Nebraska State Patrol investigating homicide in Clay County

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating a Friday evening homicide in central Nebraska.
At 8:30 p.m., the Clay County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about a domestic disturbance at a home in rural Harvard, 20 miles east of Hastings.
When deputies arrived, they found a woman with a gunshot wound who was already dead, the state patrol said in a press release.
According to the state patrol, deputies also found a man suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. There were also children inside the home.
The man was taken to Aurora Memorial Hospital and has since been flown to Bryan West with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators with the state patrol believe the man shot the female, and then shot himself. The children were not injured.
The man remains in critical condition, and the children were taken into protective care and are being placed with family.
Names are not being released at this time, the state patrol said.
