Nebraska State Patrol warns of strong winds on I-80
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska State Patrol is warning drivers of strong winds on Interstate 80 in central Nebraska.
In a Twitter post, NSP said it has seen multiple overturned semitrailer trucks because of strong winds and blowing dust.
The blowing dust is reducing visibility for drivers in some areas of I-80.
Those in semis and other high-profile vehicles should find a safe place to park for a while, NSP said.
For safety reasons, NSP is asking semis and other drivers to not stop on the shoulder of I-80.
It is incredibly windy right now in central Nebraska along I-80.
Multiple semis have overturned in the wind and blowing dust is causing visibility issues in some areas.
Good idea to find a safe place to park for a bit if you’re in a high profile vehicle. pic.twitter.com/N4wXkSJEsf
