On Nov. 6, 2023, Coplen-Anderson, who was 16 at the time, gave birth to a baby in her bedroom.
According to authorities, she then retrieved a knife from the kitchen and killed the newborn baby.
Police were then called to the home after it was reported that the baby was not breathing.
Upon investigation, police found that the infant’s throat was cut, and there were also multiple stab wounds in the baby’s chest.
Police said the teen put the child in an empty dog food bag in the closet.
