Nebraska teens found dead inside car submerged in lake

Authorities are investigating after two teenagers were found dead inside a car submerged in a lake. 

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Authorities are investigating after two teenagers were found dead inside a car submerged in a lake.

The Holdrege Police Department received a 911 call later Thursday night from someone saying a car had gone into North Park Lake in Holdrege.

Officers arrived to find the car fully submerged in the lake.

A member of the Holdrege Fire Department who has diving experience located the vehicle, which was later towed out.

HPD says a 16-year-old boy from Hildreth and a 14-year-old girl from Wilcox were found dead inside the car. Their identities have not been released at this time.

Several agencies are continuing to investigate the deaths.
