Nebraska transfers Jurevicius, Mendelson help Penn State snap Huskers’ 25-game win streak

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – No. 2 Nebraska volleyball had its 25-game winning streak snapped on Friday, losing 3-1 to No. 4 Penn State.
The Huskers lost 21-25, 25-14, 25-22, 23-25 at the Rec Hall.
Nebraska had the opportunity to clinch its second straight Big Ten title with a win, but the upset by Penn State means Nebraska might have to share the title.
The story of the match came from Nebraska transfers Caroline Jurevicius and Maggie Mendelson.
Jurevicius had a career night, tallying 18 kills on 29 total attacks and a .414% hitting percentage.
Mendelson was a force in the middle, racking up six of Penn State’s 10 total blocks.
As a team, the Nittany Lions hit .152% compared to Nebraska’s .154%.
Nebraska was led by Harper Murray with 13 kills on 37 total attacks. Andi Jackson was right behind her with 10 kills on 15 total attacks, hitting .667%.
Bergen Reilly racked up 38 assists, while Lexi Rodriquez led the team in digs with 16.
Nebraska will take the court on Saturday to take on Maryland in its final regular season match.
A win by Nebraska will clinch a share of the Big Ten title with Penn State.
