Nebraska troopers find 130 pounds of marijuana in car near Lexington

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Friday after troopers found over 130 pounds of marijuana in his car near Lexington.

The Nebraska State Patrol said a trooper pulled over a Cadillac CTS that was speeding on Interstate 80 around 7:40 a.m.

During the traffic stop, the trooper smelled marijuana and started a search of the vehicle.

Inside, troopers found about 133 pounds of marijuana in more than 100 packages, the patrol said.

The driver, 28-year-old Jose Aparicio Mendoza of Mexico, was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including possession of more than a pound of marijuana.

He was lodged in the Dawson County Jail.
