LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Troopers seized several pounds of marijuana Monday from a Maryland man’s van near Gothenburg, the Nebraska State Patrol says.

Around 7 a.m., a trooper tried pulling over an eastbound Chrysler Pacifica that had been going over 100 mph on Interstate 80.

The driver, later identified as Antoine Geter, refused to stop and sped off, according to the patrol.

During the chase, Geter got off at the interchange and got back onto westbound I-80, continuing at speeds of over 100 mph.

Near the Gothenburg interchange, a Dawson County deputy laid down a spike strip to slow the vehicle.

Shortly after, the van came to a stop southeast of Gothenburg, and Geter was taken into custody.

Inside the van, troopers found 85 pounds of marijuana, 4 pounds of marijuana products and some psilocybin mushrooms, the patrol said.

Geter was arrested on suspicion of willful reckless driving, flight to avoid arrest, possessing more than a pound of marijuana and several other charges.
