Nebraska troopers have issued 1,000 tickets for speeding at 100 mph or more this year
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska State Patrol said Monday that it has issued 1,000 tickets to speeding going 100 mph or more this year.
Troopers reached the milestone on Oct. 31, which they said is the earliest in the past 10 years.
In 2020, the patrol hit the 1,000-ticket mark on Nov. 27.
On Halloween, Troopers hit a scary milestone, recording the 1,000th citation for speeding at 100+ MPH this year.
In the last 10 years, it’s only the 3rd time we’ve hit 1,000 such citations and it’s the earliest by nearly a month.

Tickets for going 100 mph or more declined in 2021 and 2022, and fewer than 1,000 tickets were issued.
But excessive speeding ticked back up in 2023, when troopers reached 1,000 tickets on Dec. 4.
“Slow down and keep Nebraska roads safe,” the patrol said on X.
