Nebraska troopers seize 100 pounds of marijuana in traffic stop near York

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A California man was caught Wednesday with 100 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle, the Nebraska State Patrol says.

Just before 7 a.m., a trooper pulled over a Nissan Sentra that was driving on the shoulder of Interstate 80 just south of York.

During the traffic stop, the trooper smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, the patrol said.

Troopers searched the vehicle and found a duffle bag and several trash bags containing 100 pounds of marijuana.

The driver, 50-year-old Enrique Alcala Zavalza, was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including possession with intent to deliver.
