Nebraska troopers seize 2 pounds of meth, 2.5 grams of DMT near York

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A California man was arrested Friday after troopers found 2 pounds of meth in his vehicle during a traffic stop, the Nebraska State Patrol says.

A trooper pulled over a man for speeding on Interstate 80 near York.

During the traffic stop, a York County Sheriff’s Office K9 detected a controlled substance inside of the vehicle.

Troopers then searched the vehicle and found 2 pounds of meth.  They also found 2.5 grams of dimethyltryptamine, which is also known as DMT.

Jason Smith, 47, of Victorville, California, was taken into custody and lodged in the York County Jail.

He was arrested on suspicion of possession of meth, possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug-related items.
