LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol will be donning pink patches for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

In a press release Tuesday, the patrol said this is the sixth year the agency has taken part in the Pink Patch Project.

“We’re proud to be part of the Pink Patch Project again this year,” said Col. John Bolduc, the patrol’s superintendent. “This nationwide campaign is a great way to show support for millions of cancer fighters across the country. We’re happy to be one of numerous Nebraska law enforcement agencies participating this year”.

In October, troopers will have the option to replace the standard patch with a pink one.

People can buy the pink patches at local Nebraska State Patrol offices.  All proceeds from the sales will benefit local organizations helping cancer fighters, the patrol said.
