The Nebraska Union on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s campus re-opened its doors on Wednesday. COVID-19 forced the building to close on March 12. Starbucks and the campus bookstore are currently open.

The building has also undergone several changes to accommodate for social distancing. Hand sanitizing stations were placed throughout the building, a glass barrier was installed on the Welcome Desk, only four people are allowed inside an elevator at a time and all guests are required to wear a mask inside the building.

Nebraska Union director Ryan Lahne is ready to get back to work.

“It was a hard decision to close, but a good one,” Lahne said. “It feels fantastic to be back.”

The Nebraska Union will be open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Monday through Friday.
