Nebraska volleyball dominates Maryland after slow start, wins share of Big Ten title

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska volleyball team bounced back in a big way on Saturday, beating Maryland 3-1 and winning a share of the Big Ten title.
The Huskers won 25-27, 25-14, 25-8, 25-12 at Xfinity Center Pavilion in College Park.
After their loss to Penn State on Friday, the Huskers now share the Big Ten title with the Nittany Lions, marking Nebraska’s second-consecutive Big Ten Championship.
Nebraska hit an impressive .252%, while holding the Terrapins to a -.059% hitting percentage.
Merritt Beason led Nebraska in kills with 19 on 34 total attacks, hitting .471%. Harper Murray was right behind her with 12 kills on 31 total attacks.
The Huskers were paced in assists by Bergen Reilly with 43, while also leading the team in digs with 14. Lexi Rodriguez also tallied 14 digs.
Olivia Mauch was a magician from the service line, racking up four aces and only one service error.
Nebraska was also solid in the defensive department, getting 10 blocks from Beason and 11 blocks from Andi Jackson.
Samantha Schnitta led Maryland with nine kills on 41 total attacks.
The Huskers will find out where they are seeded in the NCAA tournament in the coming days.
