Nebraska volleyball receives $5 million NIL gift

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The 1890 Initiative, a Nebraska-driven NIL collective, received a $5 million gift from Nebraska Crossing designated for Nebraska volleyball, the partnership announced on Thursday.

Many Husker athletes including the Nebraska volleyball team, are clients of the collective.

It was launched by former Husker Matt Davison in October to “provide student-athletes at the University of Nebraska opportunities to capitalize on their Name, Image, and Likeness while positively impacting the Nebraska community on and off the field and/or court,” its website says.

This donation helps put Husker volleyball at the forefront of NIL and according to head coach John Cook will “help propel our program for years to come.”
