Nebraska volleyball rolls into regionals with sweep over Miami

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska volleyball team continued its hot play on Saturday night, sweeping the Miami Hurricanes in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Huskers won 25-19, 25-14, 25-18 at the Bob Devaney Center.

It was another strong defensive showing for the Huskers, holding the Hurricanes to a .058% hitting percentage and tallying 10 total blocks in the match.

As a team, Nebraska hit .293%, with five players getting more than five kills.

Harper Murray led the Huskers in every which way, leading the team in kills (9), digs (12) and aces (2).

Taylor Landfair and Merritt Beason followed right behind with eight kills each.

Bergen Reilly led the team in assists with 33. Junior middle blocker Rebekah Allick was a force in the middle, totaling seven of the team’s 10 blocks.

Flormarie Heredia Colon led the Hurricanes in kills with 14 on 39 total attacks, hitting .077%.

The Huskers were able to handle Miami’s service attack, with the Hurricanes only getting one ace on the night.

Nebraska will gear up for the regional round next weekend as they take on the Dayton Flyers at the Bob Devaney Center.
