Nebraska volleyball throttles Florida A&M, makes statement in opening round

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska volleyball team’s determination to get back to the national championship game showed Friday night in a sweep of Florida A&M in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Huskers won 25-3, 25-9, 25-17 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center, setting up a second-round match with Miami on Saturday night.

Nebraska was dominant from the very first serve, outhitting the Rattlers .392% to -.067%.

Harper Murray led the Huskers with 12 kills on 25 total attacks, hitting .440%. Andi Jackson was next in line with eight kills on .538% hitting.

The Rattlers could never get on a roll and racked up 20 total errors. Nebraska was near-clean, only totaling nine errors.

Bergen Reilly was once again the assists leader for the Huskers, racking up 32 assists and 12 digs, making this her 16th double-double of the season.

Lexi Rodriguez led the team in digs with 15, while Olivia Mauch paced the Huskers in aces with four.

The Huskers will match up with the Miami Hurricanes in the second round of the tournament. First serve for that game will be at 7 p.m. in the Bob Devaney Center.
