Nebraska volleyball’s Harper Murray to appear in court on DUI charge

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska volleyball’s Harper Murray is appearing in court Wednesday on a DUI charge.

Murray, 19, was formally charged last week with first-offense DUI, careless driving and unlawful act of the Motor Vehicle Operator’s License Act.

On April 5, Murray was pulled over near Vine Street and Antelope Valley Parkway after she broke multiple traffic laws, police said.

Harper had a blood alcohol content level of 0.169%, according to LPD.  The legal limit in Nebraska is 0.08%.

Murray also had a fake ID, according to LPD, and did not follow officers’ commands.

She was initially cited and released on five charges: DUI with a BAC over .15%, careless driving, minor in possession, fictitious license and obstructing a peace officer.

Murray was suspended for Saturday’s spring match in Kearney, the university said in a statement.
