Nebraska volleyball’s Lexi Rodriguez named finalist for national player of the year award

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska volleyball standout Lexi Rodriguez is in consideration for a national player of the year award.
Rodriguez, a senior, is one of four finalists for the American Volleyball Conference Association’s National Player of the Year Award.
Pitt’s Olivia Babcock, Kentucky’s Brooklyn DeLeye and Wisconsin’s Sarah Franklin are the other three finalists.
The winner will be announced on Friday at the AVCA All-America awards banquet.

Last week, Rodriguez became the first ever libero to be named AVCA Region Player of the Year.
She has earned several accolades during her collegiate career, including three-time Big Ten Defensive Player nods.
Rodriguez is nine digs short of the school record, set by Justine Wong-Orantes.
Nebraska faces No. 2 Penn State on Thursday in the NCAA Semifinals on ESPN.
