Nebraska volleyball’s Rebekah Allick added to AVCA Player of the Year watch list

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska volleyball’s Rebekah Allick was added to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Player of the Year watch list Thursday.

The senior middle blocker is one of 17 players being added to the initial list of 30 announced in July, which included fellow Huskers Andi Jackson, Harper Murray and Bergen Reilly.

Allick is off to a strong start in her final year as a Husker, racking up 2.62 kills and 1.22 blocks per set.

She owns a .463% hitting percentage, which ranks first in the Big Ten and fourth nationally.

Allick now ranks fifth in career blocks at Nebraska in the rally scoring era with 460, which passed Sarah Pavan (459) last week.

The Player of the Year watch list was compiled by the AVCA Division I Women’s Volleyball Awards Committee.

Semifinalist for the award will be named in November, while the finalists will be announced on Dec. 15.

The Player of the Year award will be presented in Kansas City at the AVCA Awards Banquet on Dec. 19.
