Nebraska voters repeal school choice bill by wide margin

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraskans voted overwhelmingly on Tuesday to undo a state law that awards public money to private school scholarships.
The referendum to repeal part of Legislative Bill 1402 passed by a wide margin.
As of 1:30 a.m., 58% had voted to repeal the law.
The legislation provided $10 million a year in state funding for scholarships for private school students.
It repealed another school choice bill, Legislative Bill 753, which opponents also launched a petition effort against.
