Omaha woman charged in infant daughters death

An Omaha woman has been charged with negligent abuse in the death of her six-month-old daughter in Omaha.

Douglas County Court records say 21-year-old Carmaleta Price is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 26th.

The records do not list the name of an attorney who could comment for her.

A court document says Price told police that she had fallen into a drunken sleep Monday, with her daughter on an air mattress.

She then said another family member found the baby rolled off the mattress and was dead, a plastic bag of clothes on top of her.

A prosecutor says it appears the baby suffocated.
