Nebraska woman killed in crash with semi south of Grand Island

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Hastings woman was killed late Tuesday night in a crash with a semitrailer-truck south of Grand Island.
Around 10:20 p.m., Hall County deputies were sent to the crash on Highway 281, just north of Cedarview Road.
The sheriff’s office said a semi was about to turn into a gravel lot when it struck a Hyundai Sonata from behind.
The driver of the Hyundai, 79-year-old Diana Dieken, was taken to a Grand Island hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Dieken was not wearing a seat belt, the sheriff’s office said. An investigation is ongoing.
