Nebraska women’s basketball falls to Baylor in first round of NCAA Tournament

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska women’s basketball team fell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, losing 67-62 to Baylor at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, North Carolina.

The Huskers held a 6-point lead at the end of the third quarter, but were outscored 26-15 in the final period.

As a team, Nebraska shot 34% from the floor and 43% from beyond the arc, while Baylor shot 37% and 19% from deep.

Baylor racked up most of its points from the free throw line, hitting 21-of-29 from the charity stripe.

Britt Prince was the star of the show, leading all scorers with 27 points on 8-of-19 shooting.

Logan Nissley tallied 11 points with eight rebounds, while Jessica Petrie scored 10 points to wrap up the double-digit scorers for Nebraska.

Amiah Hargrove grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds for Nebraska, while Kennadi Williams dished out a team-high six assists.
