Nebraska women’s basketball stomps Michigan State in Big Ten Tournament

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska women’s basketball is moving on to the semifinals in the Big Ten Tournament.

On Friday, the Huskers defeated Michigan State 73-61.  Nebraska is moving on to face Maryland on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Nebraska’s offense was led by Alexis Markowski, who had 22 points and 12 rebounds.

Jaz Shelley also had 17 points, and Natalie Potts — the Big Ten Freshman of the Year — scored 15.


Both teams shot 44%, but Nebraska had 14 more rebounds than the Spartans.

The Huskers scored 13 points off turnovers, while Michigan State scored only 5.

Nebraska defeated Maryland in their one matchup this season on Dec. 31.  Saturday’s game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
