Nebraska women’s hoops stomps out UNO in season opener

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska women’s basketball team opened up its season with a big win over UNO on Monday.
The Huskers won 100-36, thwarting the Mavericks’ offense throughout the entire match.
UNO scored 11 of its 36 points from free throws.

Nebraska’s offense, on the other hand, was on fire, scoring 14 three-pointers.
The Huskers shot 57% from the field and 41% from beyond the arc.
Isabelle Bourne led the team with 21 points and nine rebounds. Allison Weidner wasn’t far behind, with 19 points and nine rebounds.
In her Husker debut, Maddie Krull had a strong showing, scoring 18, which included four three-pointers.
All 10 Huskers who played made a three.

The Huskers are currently ranked No. 22 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll.
Nebraska will now prepare for Friday, when it takes on Houston Christian at Pinnacle Bank Arena at 8 p.m.
