Nebraskans vote to bring back the death penalty

Nebraska voters have chosen to reinstate death penalty, which reverses the repeal passed by the Legislature last year.

More than half of Nebraskans voted to repeal it, which means to keep the law on our books. 

This comes after a petition was circulated to get the issue on this year’s ballot earned enough signatures.

However, in Lancaster County, more than half of voters chose to retain or keep the legislature’s repeal of the death penalty.
