LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Big Ten Conference announced its weekly basketball honors on Monday, naming Nebraska’s Brice Williams as the Player of the Week.

Williams set season highs in points (30), field goals (10) and rebounds (six), along with a team-high five assists in Nebraska’s 85-68 win over Indiana on Friday.

That game made Williams the second Husker since 2011 to have a game with at least 30 points and five assists.

Williams scored nine of his 30 points in the final 6½ minutes of the game after Indiana cut the score to 68-67.

Until Williams’ career night on Friday, no Husker had scored 30 or more points against Indiana in program history.

On the season, Williams is averaging 18.9 points per game on 50% shooting.

This is Williams’ first Big Ten weekly honor. The last Husker to win Player of the Week honors was Alonzo Verge Jr. in 2022.

Nebraska is headed to Honolulu to take on Murray State in the Diamond Head Classic. Tipoff for that game is 8 p.m. Sunday.
