LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Despite not hearing his named called in the 2025 NBA Draft, Nebraska guard Brice Williams will still get his shot with a pro team.

On Thursday, the Nebraska basketball team posted on its social media account announcing Williams’ undrafted free agent deal with the Detroit Pistons.

It is still unclear what kind of contract Williams will sign with the Pistons, but he has a couple options.

The 6-foot-7 guard could sign a two-way deal, which would allow him to play in the G-League and the NBA. He could also sign and Exhibit 10 contract, giving UDFA’s a one-year minimum salary agreement, which could potentially lead to a two-way contract.

Williams, a North Carolina native, started his career at Charlotte before transferring and playing two years at Nebraska.

In his senior year at Nebraska, Williams averaged 20.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.

He was the Huskers’ best scoring option on the floor at all times, shooting 47.1% from the floor and 37% from deep.

Fellow Husker Juwan Gary has yet to sign a deal with a team.

Plenty of elite players who grew up in Nebraska are signing deals with teams as well.

Omaha Central grad John Tonje was selected by the Utah Jazz in the second round on Thursday. Tonje played six years of college ball, playing four years at Colorado State before transferring to Missouri and Wisconsin.

Tonje averaged 20 points per game for the Badgers last season, shooting 47.2% from the floor and 38.8% from deep.

Millard North grad Hunter Sallis signed a two-way deal with the Philadelphia 76ers. Sallis started his career at Gonzaga before transferring to Wake Forrest.

Bellevue West alum Chucky Hepburn signed a two-way deal with the Toronto Raptors. Hepburn started his career at Wisconsin before transferring to Louisville.
