Nebraska’s fifth case of bird flu in December detected in Johnson County flock

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A fifth bird flu case in Nebraska this month has been reported in Johnson County, state officials said Tuesday.

The Nebraska Department of Agriculture said highly pathogenic avian influenza was detected in a commercial broiler flock in Johnson County.

Four other cases of bird flu in Nemaha, Dodge Sarpy and Lancaster counties were also reported in December.
