Nebraska’s Isaac Gifford feels strong connection with Matt Rhule, coaching staff

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska defensive back Isaac Gifford said Monday that he admires the Husker coaching staff.

During a fall camp press conference, the Lincoln native said head coach Matt Rhule and company have brought out the best in people.

“They’ve showed me what it takes to be a leader and just to work your hardest,” Gifford said.

Gifford, a junior, has been with the Huskers under three head coaching regimes: Scott Frost, Mickey Joseph and Rhule.

Of all three coaching staffs, Gifford said Rhule’s has brought out a “different side of everybody.”

“I think there’s just there’s a level of trust with this staff that we can give everything we have and they’re going to take care of us,” he said.
