Nebraska’s Jaz Shelley picked in third round of WNBA draft

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Former Nebraska player Jaz Shelley was selected Monday night in the third round of the WNBA draft.

She was picked No. 29 overall by the Phoenix Mercury.

In her senior season, the Australia native averaged 13.4 points and a team-high 5.7 assists per game.

During her three years with the Huskers, she scored 1,365 points and made 565 assists, the fifth-most in program history.

Shelley is the first Husker women’s basketball player to be chosen in the draft since Jordan Hooper in 2014.
