Nebraska’s law enforcement community is gathering tactical vests to help Ukraine

The Cass County Sheriff's Office is loading up what it's collected this week

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska’s law enforcement community is gathering tactical vests to help Ukraine defend itself from Russia.

This major effort includes state patrol offices throughout Nebraska and right next door to Lancaster County.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office shared a Facebook post showing what they’ve put together.

Authorities there say they’re in the process of loading up vests this week to be sent to Ukraine, which has repeatedly beaten back what many believed to be overwhelming Russian forces.

Nebraska State Patrol will ultimately transfer everything collected to the Nebraska National Guard, which will then make sure the vests reach their destination.
