Nebraska’s projected revenue increases by $165 million over next three years

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska Economic Forecasting Board on Friday voted to add $100 million to current fiscal year revenue projections.
The board also voted to increase projected revenue by $5 million in 2025-26 and by $60 million in 2026-27.
Together, the State of Nebraska can account for an additional $165 million as it tries to balance the budget.
In a press release, Gov. Jim Pillen said this extra money can be used for “critical” investments in education and property tax relief.
“The Forecasting Board delivered good news today,” Pillen said. “This is a sign of Nebraska’s strong and resilient economy. There is still work to be done to ensure we are delivering the fiscally conservative budget that Nebraskans expect and deserve.”
