Nebraska’s Quinton Newsome named Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska’s Quinton Newsome earned a weekly Big Ten honor for his special teams score against Purdue on Saturday.
On Monday, the conference announced Newsome was named Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week.

In the third quarter, Newsome returned a blocked field goal 68 yards for a touchdown to give Nebraska a 21-0 lead.
He also helped recover Alex Bullock’s muffed punt in the first quarter.

In addition to his work on special teams, Newsome had five tackles and a fumble recovery.
Newsome is the first Husker to get a weekly Big Ten honor since Malcolm Hartzog on Oct. 3, 2022.
