Nebraska’s unemployment rate remains low

State unemployment in Nebraska has stayed steady to start 2019.

The Nebraska Dept. of Labor said, the state’s unemployment rate remained the same in January at 2.8 percent, last year at the same time it was 2.9 percent–up just a tenth of a percent.

That’s well below the national average for January of 4 percent unemployment.

These are the latest numbers from the Department of Labor.

Despite, the low numbers agriculture has been struggling in the state-with high tariffs and a difficult harvest season.
