LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man stabbed his neighbor Monday after the two had been arguing for weeks, Lincoln Police say.

Michael Wert, 55, had been arguing with his 53-year-old male neighbor for weeks at their houses near 23rd and R Streets.

Around 8:15 p.m., the victim got into another argument with Wert outside.

Wert then left and came back 30 minutes later and kicked the victim’s door down, according to Lincoln Police.  He then stabbed the victim in his left arm and torso.

The two started wrestling over the knife until officers eventually arrived.

The victim was sent to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Lincoln Police arrested Wert on suspicion of second-degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
