Netflix scraps cheapest ad-free plan for select users
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) —Netflix is making headlines after yet another controversial decision that could make the streaming service more expensive.
The streaming giant is scrapping its least expensive ad-free plan in the U.S. and the U.K.
The ‘Basic Plan’ that went for $10 a month, is no longer available for new or returning members.
Netflix says existing basic members can keep their plans.
Officials say the move will push customers to its ad-supported package, ‘Standard with Ads.’
It launched in November and costs $7 a month.
The package comes with an average of four minutes of unskippable ads per hour.
