New advisory from UK health service on Pfizer COVID vaccine possible allergic reaction

LONDON (KLKN) – The United Kingdom National Health Service says there have been two allergic reactions to the COVID-19 vaccine injections given yesterday.
Both were individuals with a history of allergic reactions who carried adrenaline injectors with them. They developed the reaction a short time after getting the first of two vaccine doses and they both recovered a short time later.
While the investigation into the allergic reaction is ongoing, Professor Stephen Powis, the National Medical Director for NHS, said “As is common with new vaccines the MHRA have advised on a precautionary basis that people with a significant history of allergic reactions do not receive this vaccination after two people with a history of significant allergic reactions responded adversely yesterday. Both are recovering well.”
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency is now advising the vaccination centers that people with a history of allergic reactions should not get the vaccine until more information can be gathered.
This comes just one day after the first dose of the vaccine was given outside of clinical trials.
