New DMV office with double the space opens in Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A brand-new Department of Motor Vehicles office is replacing the West O Street location to improve efficiency.
Gov. Jim Pillen, along with many other people involved in this project, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday.
The new DMV near Northwest First Street and Highland Boulevard is double the size of the old one, upgrading from eight service stations to 16.

DMV Director Rhonda Lahm said wait times have been reduced from 22 minutes to five minutes.
This new streamlined system will make trips to the DMV a little more bearable for Lincoln residents, the state said.
The new DMV is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The legislation to fund this project also included money for new DMV locations in Grand Island and Norfolk.
