The days of impulse checkout line purchases and spending too much money at the grocery store are over.
That’s because a new service called Instacart can do your shopping for you.
"Customers can order just about everything they could normally get while they’re in store produce, meat, groceries," said Marty Jarvis, the director of marketing for B and R stores.
The new service is making it’s debut in Lincoln Thursday
Hy–Vee, Super Saver, Russ’s Market, Fresh Thyme, Costco and several other stores across the city are participating.
But how does the service work?
"Customers go online and order their items. If they want special requests like their bananas a little bit more green or yellow, they can make those notations, they get their total, they get their delivery window, then an instacart person will come shop for the groceries, and deliver them to the persons address," Jarvis said.
The Instacart app is available for free for both iPhone and Android.
Type in the store you want and then begin shopping for your items.
You can buy everything you’d get in stores, except alcohol and tabaco.
Orders over $35 are delivered for $5.99 or you can purchase a yearly membership.
"It’s a great service that saves people time so they can do other things."
