No. 1 Huskers roar back to life to defeat No. 16 Penn State

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — No. 1 Nebraska volleyball made it out of the lions’ den alive on Friday, but it was a close call.
The Huskers got off to their worst start of the season on the road at No. 16 Penn State, dropping the first two sets before coming back to win three straight.
Nebraska defeated the Nittany Lions 18-25, 23-25, 25-18, 25-20, 15-13.
The teams finished with nearly identical hitting percentages: .298% for Penn State and .288% for Nebraska.
Merritt Beason led Nebraska with 27 kills and an ace. Harper Murray added 15 kills and an ace, and Bekka Allick tacked on 11 kills.
Murray also had 14 digs, while Lexi Rodriguez and Bergen Reilly each recorded 13.
Jess Mruzik was the star for Penn State, with 21 kills.
The Huskers, 22-0, will play at Rutgers at noon Sunday. The match will be streamed on Big Ten Plus.
