No. 1 Nebraska volleyball stays undefeated with sweep over Grand Canyon
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The No. 1-ranked Nebraska volleyball team moved to 8-0 on Saturday, beating Grand Canyon in three sets.
The Huskers won 25-12, 25-23, 25-18 at the Bob Devaney Center.
It was a new-look squad for the Huskers, as Campbell Flynn, Virginia Adriano, Rebekah Allick, Manaia Ogbechie, Skyler Pierce, Teraya Sigler and Olivia Mauch started the match for the Big Red.
As a team, Nebraska had a .364% hitting percentage, while Grand Canyon had a .105% hitting percentage.
Sigler led the Huskers with 14 kills on 30 swings, hitting .267% with a team-high 11 digs and two blocks.
Ogbechie followed close behind with 10 kills and a .529% hitting percentage. She also posted a team-high three blocks.
Flynn led the Huskers in assists with 37.
Anaelena Ramirez led the Lopers with 12 kills and a .235% hitting percentage.
Nobody else on Grand Canyon hit better than .100%
The Huskers will head to Omaha on Tuesday to take on Creighton.
First serve is set for 6:30 p.m. at the CHI Health Center.
